Enabling change through musical connection
Hello!
I’m Hannah, Director of Surrey Music Therapy. Based in Surrey for most of my life, I’m an HCPC registered Music Therapist (AS14160) currently working for an NHS Foundation Trust in London, alongside private practice. I qualified from Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2011 and have extensive experience of working with children and adults through roles education, health and the charitable sector.
My work to date includes individual and group sessions in children’s centres and nurseries, mainstream and special school provisions, clinics for neurodivergent children, on and off ward assessment and rehabilitation sessions in acute and forensic mental health hospitals, neuro-rehabilitation after acquired or traumatic brain injury, dementia and hospice care. Clients have presented with a range of needs, including support with early years development, social communication, mental health, attachment work after trauma, emotional regulation, confidence, complex educational and/or medical needs.
I am fully insured and subscribe to the DBS Update Service. I have Safeguarding Children Level 3 and Safeguarding Adult Level 3 as well as other relevant training. I have supervised Music Therapists, students across four of the UK training programmes, and Interactive Music Making practitioners for many years, and completed Supervision Training for Creative Art Therapists with the London Art Therapy Centre (2023-2024). Over the years I have delivered case presentations and experiential groups at many conferences across the UK. Get in touch!
